Botox® Cosmetic Chicago Loop, IL

Have you ever looked in the mirror and noticed those stubborn lines on your face that just won’t go away? Maybe it’s the “elevens” between your eyebrows when you concentrate, the creases across your forehead, or the crow’s feet that appear when you smile. If so, you’re not alone, and there’s a popular and effective solution: Botox® Cosmetic.

Botox is one of the very first and only cosmetic treatments approved by the FDA to safely reduce the look of these common signs of aging in adults. The best part is you don’t have to go to a fancy spa or a separate doctor’s office to get it. We offer Botox right here in our Chicago practice, alongside our cosmetic dental services to help you look as refreshed and vibrant as you feel.

Turn Back the Clock on Aging with Botox in Chicago

Getting Botox at a dental office actually makes perfect sense. As your dentist, Dr. Nechama Brand is a true expert on the face, head, and neck. She has spent years studying the complex network of muscles that control your smile, your frown, and every expression in between.

This deep knowledge of facial anatomy, combined with her advanced training in Botox, means she knows exactly how to place your injections for the most natural and effective results. She understands how the tiny muscles in your face work together and how they will respond to the treatment.

This expertise allows her to strategically relax specific muscles to smooth out wrinkles, all while preserving your ability to make naturally expressive faces. It’s this precise skill that can be the perfect final step after a smile makeover.

What Is a Botox Treatment Like?

The word “injection” can sound a little scary, but a Botox treatment is actually quick and straightforward. The treatment uses a purified protein called botulinum toxin A that has been proven safe for decades. It works by temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles that contract over and over, causing those deep lines and wrinkles to form.

To make sure you’re comfortable, we can apply a topical numbing cream to your skin. Dr. Brand then uses an incredibly fine needle to give a few tiny injections. Most of our patients say it feels like a quick, small pinch. The entire process often takes just about 10 to 15 minutes!

One of the best things about Botox is that there is absolutely no downtime. You can walk out of our office and go right back to your normal daily routine. You might have some mild redness or slight swelling at the injection sites, but this usually fades within a day or two.

The smooth, refreshed results typically last for several months. Since we recommend you visit us every six months for your routine dental cleaning, it’s the perfect opportunity to get a touch-up injection to maintain your gorgeous, youthful look with ease.

More Than Just Wrinkles: Botox for Jaw Pain

Did you know Botox can also be used for more than just cosmetic reasons? Dr. Brand can also use it to treat the painful symptoms of TMJ disorders. If you suffer from frequent headaches, jaw or neck pain, or hear a clicking sound when you talk or eat, Botox can help by relaxing the overworked jaw muscles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I a good candidate for Botox?

The best way to know for sure is to come in for a consultation. Dr. Brand will sit down with you to talk about what you hope to achieve and take a close look at your skin. Most healthy adults are great candidates for Botox, but it’s not the only option out there. Dr. Brand will be honest with you about whether Botox is your best choice or if another treatment might work better to meet your specific goals.

How long will my Botox results last?

You can expect your Botox results to be long-lasting, but they aren’t permanent. On average, the smooth, relaxed look lasts for about four months. For some people, it can even last up to six months!

The effects gradually fade away over time, which is why we recommend touch-up treatments. A good way to remember is to schedule your next Botox session at the same time as your regular six-month dental check-up.

How many injections will I need?

The number of tiny injections you’ll need isn’t the same for everyone. It really depends on which areas you want us to treat and how strong your facial muscles are. For example, treating a small area like the frown lines between your eyebrows will require fewer injections than treating a larger area like the forehead. After your consultation, Dr. Brand will create a personalized plan for you and explain exactly how many injections are part of that plan.

How soon will I see results after my Botox treatment?

You won’t see a change right away, but you won’t have to wait long. Most people start to notice their muscles relaxing and their lines beginning to soften within the first one to two days. The magic keeps working over the following weeks.

You’ll see the full, final results of your treatment about one month after your appointment. It takes a little time for the Botox to fully settle in and give you that beautifully smooth look.

What is the best age to start getting Botox?

There’s no single perfect age that works for everyone, because everyone’s skin is different. Many people start thinking about Botox in their late 20s or early 30s, which is when fine lines often first start to appear and stick around. However, some people in their mid-20s choose to start “preventative” Botox to keep those wrinkles from forming in the first place. The best time for you to start is simply whenever you start to feel bothered by the lines you see in the mirror.

Is it safe to get Botox if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

To be extra safe, we strongly recommend that you avoid Botox treatments if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The reason is that there just haven’t been enough scientific studies to prove that it’s completely safe for an unborn baby or an infant. Because your and your baby’s health is our top priority, it’s best to simply wait until after you have finished breastfeeding. We always advise that you talk with your OB-GYN for their medical opinion as well.
