A Truly Positive Experience!
I can't thank this dental office enough! From my very first visit with the hygienist to my most recent appointment, every interaction has been absolutely delightful. I've already raved about my experience to several people.
I was particularly impressed with how smoothly everything went. I genuinely felt **no pain**, even after the Novocain wore off, which was a huge relief. My only "challenge" now is remembering to chew on my right side because my treated left side feels so incredibly normal!
The entire team made what could have been a daunting change a truly positive experience. Highly recommend!

Ended up breaking my tooth in a skateboard accident. Dr. Brand saw me that day. She capped the tooth and it looks like nothing happened. I tell people I broke a tooth and show the repair and they are always amazed by how normal it looks (down to the slight yellowing to match my natural teeth). Would highly recommend for cosmetic dental procedures.
Dr Brand is amazing. We travel from the far suburbs to see her. She is kind, patient and down to earth. Listens to our concerns and is an excellent dentist. She is a perfectionist in her work, which is exactly what we want with our oral care.

Highly recommend. been going to Dr. Brand and Premier Dentistry for years, and they are the best dental practice I've ever been to. Dr. Brand is very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful, as are all of the hygienists, receptionists, and other people there. Dr. Brand has solved some dental issues that other practices either caused or had no solution for. I wish I could bring them with me when I move out of Chicago soon!
Dental problems can feel similar even when their causes differ. Tell the office what you notice rather than assuming that pain means you need a particular procedure.
Persistent or worsening tooth pain
Describe whether pain is constant, triggered by temperature or brought on by biting. Mention whether it keeps you awake or makes eating difficult.
Seek prompt professional assessment for swelling around a tooth or gum, especially with fever or feeling unwell. Rapidly spreading facial or neck swelling, trouble swallowing or difficulty breathing requires emergency medical care.
Explain when the injury happened and whether the tooth is loose, displaced or missing. A knocked-out permanent tooth needs immediate dental attention; do not wait for pain to develop.
Keep any detached restoration and avoid chewing on the affected area. Tell the office about exposed surfaces, sharp edges, sensitivity or a change in your bite.
Avoid chewing on a painful or damaged tooth. Choose soft foods and avoid temperatures that trigger discomfort. For swelling after an injury, apply a cold compress to the outside of the face for short intervals. Do not place aspirin directly against a tooth or gum, attempt to drain swelling, or use household glue on dental work.
For a knocked-out permanent tooth, handle it by the crown, not the root. If dirty, rinse it briefly and gently without scrubbing. If you can easily return it to its socket, do so without forcing it; otherwise keep it in milk or a tooth-preservation solution and seek immediate dental care. Do not reinsert a baby tooth.
If using an over-the-counter pain medicine, follow the label and ask a pharmacist if it is suitable for you, particularly if you take other medicines, are pregnant or have a medical condition. Temporary pain relief does not establish the cause or mean the problem has resolved.
What to have ready when you call
Have your medication list, allergies and relevant medical history nearby. Note when the problem started, any injury or recent dental work, and what you have taken for pain. Tell the office if you take blood thinners; do not stop prescribed medicine on your own.

When should I go to an emergency department instead of waiting for a dentist?
Call 911 for difficulty breathing or another life-threatening emergency. Seek emergency medical care for trouble swallowing, rapidly spreading facial or neck swelling, uncontrolled bleeding or a serious facial injury. Dental pain without these symptoms still deserves dental assessment, but a hospital may not provide the treatment needed to resolve its source.
How quickly should I seek help for a knocked-out tooth?
A knocked-out permanent tooth requires immediate dental attention because time outside the socket affects the chance of saving it. Hold it by the crown, avoid touching or scrubbing the root, and keep it moist in milk or a tooth-preservation solution if it cannot be easily reinserted. Never reinsert a baby tooth. If the injury includes serious head or facial trauma, seek emergency medical care.
Does tooth pain going away mean the problem is over?
No. Pain can change even while an underlying problem remains. Tell a dentist about the original symptoms, how long they lasted and any new swelling, drainage or bad taste. Do not use the disappearance of pain as the only reason to postpone assessment.
