I can't thank this dental office enough! From my very first visit with the hygienist to my most recent appointment, every interaction has been absolutely delightful. I've already raved about my experience to several people.

Ended up breaking my tooth in a skateboard accident. Dr. Brand saw me that day. She capped the tooth and it looks like nothing happened. I tell people I broke a tooth and show the repair and they are always amazed by how normal it looks (down to the slight yellowing to match my natural teeth). Would highly recommend for cosmetic dental procedures.

Persistent or worsening tooth pain deserves dental assessment even when there is no visible damage. Pain when biting, a tooth that suddenly feels different or sensitivity that continues after hot or cold exposure can signal a problem that is difficult to evaluate at home. The severity of pain alone does not show how much damage is present. A quiet period also does not establish that the underlying cause has resolved.
Swollen gums, a tender area near a tooth, drainage or a bad taste can occur with infection and other dental conditions. Seek prompt dental advice, especially when symptoms are increasing. Fever or feeling generally unwell alongside dental swelling raises the urgency. If dental care is unavailable and those symptoms are developing, seek urgent medical assessment rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
Difficulty breathing or swallowing, rapidly spreading swelling of the face or neck, heavy bleeding that will not stop, or a serious facial injury requires emergency medical care. Call 911 or go to an emergency department. After a head injury, loss of consciousness, confusion or repeated vomiting also warrants emergency evaluation. Do not wait for a dental office to return a message when these warning signs are present.

Protect the area while arranging care
For a sore tooth, gentle brushing and a mild warm saltwater rinse may help keep the area clean. If food appears trapped between teeth, use floss carefully without forcing it into painful tissue. Choose soft foods and avoid chewing on the affected side. Very hot, cold or sweet foods may aggravate sensitivity. These measures can reduce irritation while you seek advice, but they do not establish the cause of the pain.
A cold compress against the outside of the cheek may help after an injury. Wrap it in cloth and use it for short intervals instead of placing ice directly on skin. Do not place aspirin, alcohol or household chemicals against a tooth or gum. They can damage tissue. Avoid trying to drain a swollen area, filing down a tooth or attaching a loose restoration with household glue.
If you use an over-the-counter pain medicine, follow the label and check whether it is safe with your health conditions and other medicines. Ask a pharmacist or clinician if you are unsure, particularly during pregnancy or if you take blood thinners. Do not combine products containing the same active ingredient or take leftover antibiotics. Temporary improvement with medication does not replace dental assessment.

What should I do if an adult tooth is knocked out?
Seek immediate dental help because time matters. Handle the tooth by its crown, the part normally visible above the gum, without touching or scrubbing the root. If dirty, rinse it gently and briefly. If it slips back into the socket easily, gently reposition it without forcing it and hold it in place. Otherwise, keep it in milk or a tooth-preservation solution. Do not let it dry out. Never reinsert a baby tooth.
Does dental swelling mean I need antibiotics?
Swelling needs assessment to identify its cause and severity. Antibiotics are appropriate for some situations, but they do not resolve every dental problem or replace treatment of the source. Do not use another person's prescription or leftover medication. Mention fever, spreading swelling and medical conditions when seeking help.
