What brings you in?

Start with the concern that is closest to yours. You can also call us to talk it through.

Find the information you need before calling

Your first conversation with a dental office is a chance to explain why you are seeking care. You may be establishing a dental home, returning after time away or looking for help with a current symptom. State your main reason for calling so your questions focus on the care you need.

Ask whether the office is taking new patients and what type of initial appointment fits your situation. If you are arranging care for someone else, include their age and any assistance they need.

Patient perspectives

Experiences shared by patients of Premier Dentistry at Millennium Park.

Robert Acevedo

A Truly Positive Experience! I can't thank this dental office enough! From my very first visit with the hygienist to my most recent appointment, every interaction has been absolutely delightful. I've already raved about my experience to several people. I was particularly impressed with how smoothly everything went. I genuinely felt **no pain**, even after the Novocain wore off, which was a huge relief. My only "challenge" now is remembering to chew on my right side because my treated left side feels so incredibly normal! The entire team made what could have been a daunting change a truly positive experience. Highly recommend!

Dr. Brand, thank you! She is a very confident, positive and vibrant person. Dr. Brand understands the practicality, importance and artistic value of one’s teeth. The dental areas/spaces have advanced technological equipment and the best part is WTTW’s Food Channel. The attentive and professional tone of the dental assistants and office staff is noted as they work alongside Dr. Brand. Personally, for over 50 years I’ve walked into these offices and received excellent dental care and advice. Again, thanks! Christina

Ended up breaking my tooth in a skateboard accident. Dr. Brand saw me that day. She capped the tooth and it looks like nothing happened. I tell people I broke a tooth and show the repair and they are always amazed by how normal it looks (down to the slight yellowing to match my natural teeth). Would highly recommend for cosmetic dental procedures.

Dr Brand is amazing. We travel from the far suburbs to see her. She is kind, patient and down to earth. Listens to our concerns and is an excellent dentist. She is a perfectionist in her work, which is exactly what we want with our oral care.

When a tooth goes AWOL, sideways, you name it, you would think a trip to the dentist would be the last form of pleasure on Earth. Au contraire, mon ami. Premier Dentistry is my favorite destination for tooth repairs and maintenance. Dr. Brand is superb. Everyone at Premier is tops.

From our patient testimonials
Highly recommend. been going to Dr. Brand and Premier Dentistry for years, and they are the best dental practice I've ever been to. Dr. Brand is very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful, as are all of the hygienists, receptionists, and other people there. They make communications and appointments easy, are flexible, and always discuss costs thoroughly with me beforehand. Dr. Brand has solved some dental issues that other practices either caused or had no solution for. I wish I could bring them with me when I move out of Chicago soon!

Explain what brings you to the dentist

You do not need to identify the cause of a symptom before calling. Describe what you feel, where it happens and how long it has been present. Mention changes in eating, sleeping or daily activities.

Time away from dental care

Share approximately when you last visited a dentist and any concerns you want to address. If you do not remember exact dates, an estimate is still useful.

Sensitivity, bleeding gums or a bite change

Note what triggers the symptom, whether it is improving or worsening, and whether a particular tooth or area is involved.

Pain, swelling or a recent injury

Lead with urgent symptoms when calling rather than treating the request as a routine first visit. Use the emergency guide for warning signs and immediate precautions.

Before your visit

Useful information for your next step.

Prepare a useful dental and medical history

Bring a current list of prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines and supplements, along with allergies and relevant medical conditions. Include recent operations, pregnancy and prior reactions to dental treatment. Do not stop prescribed medicines unless the prescribing clinician directs you to do so.

Ask your previous dental office how to authorize transfer of records and recent images. Tell the new office when those images were taken and how they can be obtained. Existing records can provide useful history, although a dentist decides whether additional information is needed.

Write down your priorities in plain language. Examples include understanding a sensitive tooth, asking about gum bleeding or learning how to improve home care. If cost affects your decisions, ask when fees and treatment estimates will be explained.

Questions to settle before your first appointment

Ask what the initial appointment includes, how much time to allow and whether forms should be completed beforehand. A first appointment can vary with the reason for the visit; ask specifically whether a cleaning is part of the scheduled appointment.

Tell the office about mobility, communication or other access needs before traveling. Ask for building-entry and arrival instructions, and allow time to reach Suite 1503.

For dental insurance questions, have your plan information ready. Ask your insurer about the office's network status and your benefits. Ask the office about fees and payment expectations so you can make an informed scheduling decision.

Your questions

Frequently asked questions

About new patient dentist chicago and visiting Premier Dentistry.

How do I ask about becoming a new patient?

Contact the office and ask whether it is taking new patients. Explain whether you want ongoing dental care or help with a specific symptom. Ask what the first appointment includes, what records to provide and what fees to expect. If you have pain, swelling or a recent injury, mention it at the beginning of the call.

What should I bring to my first dental appointment?

Ask the office which forms and identification it requires. Prepare your medication list, allergies, medical history and details of previous dental treatment. Bring dental benefit information if you have it, along with your main questions. Ask how to send prior records or images securely rather than assuming you need paper copies.

Will my first appointment include a cleaning?

Ask when scheduling. The content of a first appointment depends on the appointment type and your needs. Symptoms, dental history and examination findings may affect recommendations. Knowing what is scheduled helps you allow enough time and understand the associated fees.

What if I am nervous or have not seen a dentist for years?

Tell the office when you call, and explain which parts of dental care worry you. You can ask how findings are explained, how to request a pause and how recommendations are prioritized. Bring a short list of concerns so you do not have to remember everything during the appointment. Ask directly about any accommodation you need.

Can I arrange appointments for my family?

Provide each person's age and reason for seeking care when you contact the office. Ask which ages the practice sees and whether appointments can be arranged together. Each family member may need separate records, medical history and appointment time.

What if an urgent dental problem develops before my first visit?

Contact a dental provider promptly and describe the symptoms rather than waiting for a routine appointment. A knocked-out permanent tooth needs immediate dental attention. Call 911 for difficulty breathing; seek emergency medical care for trouble swallowing, rapidly spreading facial or neck swelling, uncontrolled bleeding or serious facial trauma.
